Butterflies Documented For La Suerte

Species are listed in order of appearance as per DeVries butterflies of Costa-Rica I,II Licaenidae in alphabetical order identified from D'Abrera Butterflies of the Neotropics Vol VII, Ann additional 22 species of hesperidae are as yet not identified.

 

KEY:
Specimens: refers to location of voucher specimens relating to this list, ELS= collection of Estacion la Suerte, EVDB=collection of Eric van den Berghe, TB,collection of Thomas Barnum V=visual confirmation in field only, STATUS: all status reports must be considered tentative as this is based on a two week sampling in June, species may be more (or less) comon in other months. common=can be seen every day if sun shines, uncommon=seen every second or third day as isolated individuals, rare:= seen/trapped only once or twice.
